Spond Alternative for Open Sports Events | FitHere

A Spond alternative makes sense when you organize open games and the roster changes each time. Spond is worth a look if you run a regular team. The choice mostly comes down to how people join.

Spond alternative: team or open game?
If the same players meet every week, Spond’s group tools may be all you need. If attendance changes from one game to the next, an event page and a link people can pass around may be more useful.

When Spond is worth a look
Spond makes sense for an established team that needs recurring events, member management, reminders and attendance limits. It has a browser version too, so an app-only comparison would be misleading.
Spond also has a Public events beta. In its help article dated September 7, 2026, Spond says the feature is available only to selected groups and currently covers free events. Guests can register in a browser without a Spond account or the app. That gives some organizers an open-event option, but the selected-group limit matters if you need it today. Spond Discover also lists events; its documentation does not establish coverage for every location.
Payments depend on the flow: Spond says registration fees are paid during sign-up, while payment requests sent after an event are handled in its mobile app. Its transaction fees vary by country. FitHere charges a commission on online payments through Stripe, so compare the fee for the payment method you use.

When FitHere may suit your games
For games with changing attendance, FitHere gives the event its own page, sign-ups and waitlist. Organizers can create and share the page without an organizer subscription. Players can view it in a browser without installing the app.
